Discuss everything about Ten Bows of China. Their
    • strength,
    • weakness,
    • lone archer or possible general,
    Questions,
    1. Who among them do you think will be Jin/Tan's opponent?
    2. What do you think about the possibility about one of them being a great general?
    3. When will Jin/Tan be considered a member of 10 bows?
    Ten Bows of China

The Ten Bows of China consist of the top ten archers from all of China. Originally, the Ten Bows was formed from the top ten participants of an archery competition held by King Burei of Zhao. They have an internal ranking mentioned by Haku Rei. The Ten Bows of China were introduced by Kou Rigen in the war of the Dakan plains.

    Kin Rei

I think certainly the number one archer in the kingdom world could be general level. He could even be a general that we haven't heard about yet. Anything is possible.

The other part of your question can be easily addressed by evidence in the manga. If you remember, the king of chu and Renpa were both having a discussion about what to do, because things were starting to look favorable to Qin. This happened slightly after the battle with Kanmei. The two of them both spoke of another really capable general still in Chu. This shows that some states weren't willing to send all of their most capable soldiers into the battle against Qin which makes sense. It would be foolish to put all of your resources into an invasion campaign. What if another state was having an internal struggle like Qin (with the entire chancellor Ryo storyline) sending all of your warriors away could result in a revolt. This isn't the only reason why either. Imagine one of the states break off the coalition agreement and decide to invade a defenseless state as well? These are provinces that have been fighting each other for years. They don't trust each other one bit. I think there are quite a few generals and warriors that we won't see in this coalition war, but will be shown later in the series when Qin presumably goes on the offensive. Sei wants to take over all of china after all. The other archers could very well be among these figures ^.^.

I have no doubt that the strongest bow of china is great general level.

But so far, the ten bows of china have been quite underwhelming, with that one fella from Wei who got cut by shin, and the man who shot Ouki in the war. The two more formidable archers are Hakurei and Kyouen.

Hakurei is shin level, and is very very impressive. We will see more of him that's for sure. As far as Kyouen, he could very well be general level to be honest.

"Even I has my hand burnt a few times one going against him" - Renpa talking about Kyouen.

He also comes from a time where he fought the six great generals, and has told Renpa how Hakuki was the most pain in the ass to go against from the six great generals of Qin. Ousen also completely acknowledged him and asked him to join Qin, under the army of Ousen. He's been overshadowed by many, but I'm sure when the time comes, Kyouen will impress us.

As far as the possibility of a rogue "Ten bows of china".. I am not sure.
The explanation of these ten mofos in the manga is basically the strongest archers who are combatants in one of the states of china. Simply put, they are inclined to be under a state, but I do see the possibility of a badass former bow of china, who got exiled or something. I also think Kanki can be one of the bows of china, him having immense skill as a bowman and with the sword is to my liking. The Kanki army makes fun of anyone in it who can't use a bow, and it'd be nice to have someone who is really skilled at the two things.

I think the reason why the author didn't reveal all of them is because he don't want to spoil that much for the sake of manga story itself. I believe they have big roles on the upcoming battles.. and yes, I think the number one would be good enough to be a general level or could even be a general itself. One of the four that has already been revealed is also a general (Kyouen). I couldn't find the rest of the members even from the actual history. Though I doubt if they're really that strong compared to the warriors from another dynasty in China history. For example, Huang Zhong and Lu Bu from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms (Han Dynasty, 206 BC–220 AD). Huang Zhong was said to shoot 100 arrows at falling leaves and each arrow hit a leaf, and Lu Bu shot the arrow through the halberd (I know, it sounds like hyperbole). Also look up for Zhou Tong. He was the archery teacher and second military arts tutor of famous Song Dynasty (960–1279) general Yue Fei.

The only one with a number associated with them is Haku Rei who is said to be number 3 of Ten Bows. And he's the youngest member, and he's only gonna grow.

Haku Rei is probably going to be the future No.1. I predict/speculate that the current No.1 of the Ten Bows is the Top General of the Chu military (whose name I'm forgetting right now...argh) that guy that the Chu King was talking to Renpa about...Anyway, I'm pretty sure he's No.1.

And I won't be surprised if he's the reason why Haku Rei is so good at such a young age.

That is a really cool theory. It would be awesome if it were true! The name of the great general of Chu that we have not seen yet is Kouen. I had actually forgotten his name too, so went to chapter 319 Lol.

I also just read some of the Kingdom Wikia regarding Chu and it described Kouen as the "Tiger of Chu". I'm not sure if that is a title an archer would have, but I figured the name could be helpful for speculation.

Oh! I think I found Kouen. He was in a panel from earlier in the manga. The Tiger of Chu truly is epic....
