A few months back, we were on the receiving end of multiple false DMCA complaints. Even after having complied with existing copyright laws we were harassed and bullied. We spoke out in an announcement and filed counter-notice on multiple DMCA complaints claiming fair-use and the harassment eventually ended, Oro Jackson was no longer being targeted or bullied. But the corporate bullies are back to harass us again, this time under the name of Comeso. Comeso presents itself to be a company that protects intellectual rights and fights online piracy, however it turns out to be a business that blatantly abuses the law and files false DMCA complaints based on keywords and no other evidence. On 23rd August, Comeso filed a false DMCA complaint against Oro Jackson. The complaint was based solely on the keyword "Reveries of the Moonlight" - we had a discussion thread which contained the keyword and they wanted it deleted. The thread has been removed currently as we filed a counter notice, but the contents of the thread are in the screenshot below. Spoiler: Screenshot The DMCA complaint is blatant misuse of the law, as no copyright infringing content existed or has ever existed on that discussion thread. Its a censorship of online discussion. And they didn't stop there, earlier today (25th August) they filed another false DMCA complaint. Under penalty of perjury, they filed a false DMCA complaint based on the keyword "G'Day". Is saying the word "G'Day" now illegal? Below are screenshots of the introduction threads which we were asked to delete in this illegal DMCA complaint. Spoiler: Screenshots Comeso, a company that claims to protect copyrights, is now filing DMCA complaints against Oro Jackson for using the word "G'Day". Yes, it is now illegal to use that word, and if we don't delete these pages within 92 hours of their complain Oro Jackson would be forced to go offline. We could go offline for using "G'Day"! How can a company like Comeso blatantly abuse existing laws and file false DMCA complaints? How can they swear under penalty of perjury while committing a crime? Is this fair? Are we supposed to bend backwards and let them walk all over us? We ask you, our members. Have we done anything wrong? Why should we have to delete content that isn't illegal in any form or manner? Why must we be on the receiving end of such illegal abuse by Comeso? Why can they commit perjury and file false DMCA complaints and face absolutely no consequence, while we constantly have to keep deleting content and filing counter-notices? Isn't this complete and blatant abuse of the law? The law that is supposed to also protect us, our speech and our freedom to discuss, our freedom to criticize? We are done with fighting the silent battle against such bullies, we want to call them out on their illegal business practice. We need your help. Please spread the word, tell your friends - family, any acquaintance that may care. Share this on social media, create YouTube videos. Because what we are facing is illegal, and companies like Comeso continue to operate daily in such a manner. They send out thousands of illegal DMCA complaints, and no one raises their voice against them. No one has the time or patience to fight them, thus they continue on. Without any repercussion of violating laws, without any fear in the world. It's time we stood up, it's time we said enough is enough. We understand piracy is a concern, but using automatic bots to search for keywords and attack sites like Oro Jackson that do nothing wrong is just not acceptable. We aren't the only ones that face this abuse, but we are speaking out now. And we want the world to hear us. Help us spark a fire that will stop such bullying. That will stop Oro Jackson continuously having to fight false DMCA complaints. Let us once and for all send a message that we won't sit silently while we have done nothing wrong. LEGAL REPRESENTATION IN UNITED STATES All we ask of you is to help spread the word and raise your voice against injustice. However if any of you are willing to help us connect with, and have legal representation in United States, we are willing to pursue legal action against Comeso and claim compensation for their illegal DMCA complaints. We would be willing to provide the entire compensation amount to our legal representatives for assisting us in fighting for what is right. There are judgement's that have compensated up to 25,000$ in cases of illegal DMCA complaints. Please e-mail us at email@example.com if you are willing to help us with legal representation. THE STORY IN VIDEO Thanks to @Joy_Boy ---- UPDATES ---- UPDATE 26-08-17 Comeso has refused to accept our counter-notices for the DMCA complaints they filed with our service provider. They were not clear on their reason and neither do they wish to explain why they refused it. We have been advised to continue after advise with our legal counsel.
