    In time for the Olympics and the World Cosplay Summit, Oricon, best known for monitoring and reporting on the sales of entertainment media, conducted a scientific survey asking what were the real world class anime/manga... the ones with Olympian global appeal that carried the flag for anime in the march of global media.

    A field of the general public, not necessarily anime fans, ranked the following...

    1. Dragon Ball
    2. One Piece
    3. Doraemon
    4. Naruto
    5. Pokemon
    6. Neon Genesis Evangelion
    7. Captain Tsubasa
    8. Mobile Suit Gundam
    9. Akira
    10. Astro Boy and Slam Dunk (A tie)

    Isn't it awesome to see One Piece there, at the top? OP at #2 :p

    I can a bit understand why Dragonball won over One Piece.
    That show was on TV when I was a kid and for our country that's something
    because we barely have any anime here. And Dragonball Z was my most favorite show.:D
    I still like it and I still want to shoot laser-beams like they do. :p

    It was the same over here, it was on TV when I was a kid too and that time it was mostly tom and jerry and powerpuff girls that dominated TV but Dragonball series made a good stand up there :p

    Waaay back when, DBZ, Pokemon (First Gen), Beyblade, and another anime used to air back-to-back, easily consuming two hours everyday xD The most exciting was definitely Dragonball out of them. Then they aired OP for a few months and little did I know it was so epic! :eek:

    All my friends were big fans of Pokemon, but it was just not for me I watched 3/4 episodes but it just didn't click my interests :p

    I did like Pokemon in the beginning, but after grand Pokemon tournament it started all over again but with different Pokemon. And Pokemon is still better then the other crap that was and still is on tv nowadays.:unsure:

    I'm willing to even look past that cuz they improved the battles a lot but the story has gotten really repetitive. Its like fight, fight, team rocket, help person, fight, gym battle, team rocket, etc etc :/
