Opportunity advice

Blog entry posted by Elf, Sep 24, 2011.

To tell you the truth, I am reluctant to talk to you guys about this, because of certain reasons.

Lately a lot of opportunities for my future have been popping up around me lately. But I know I can't try for all of them.

One of the opportunities is to be the lead singer in my youth group's band. Its open tryouts, and a position I've considered more than once when the opportunity has popped up. I don't know if it would help me in the long run, honestly, though.

And then there is my friend Anna, who invited me to be in a small choir at the local college. They sing at Christmas events and shows and preform a lot. And I might be able to actually get a start in that from this choir.

I don't know which one. I know the second one is a better choice, but Anna has told me that there are two snotty brats who actually LITERALLY go and say they have the best voices in the group and make fun of the people Anna is friends with because they aren't 'fitting in.' And honestly, a hit to my confidence from an insult is all the shit that I need right now. The second one... would do nothing for me yes, but I'd know the people that I was singing too, at least. And I could do both, but I doubt my stomach could take it. :/

Help?

Not good with this whole blogging thing obviously. xD

And since the 600 word limit -.- cont. Walk like they are dogs barking at you and you're a lion not giving a damn about them.

I agree with Luc, the lead signer role will get you more of a spotlight, but at the end its your choice. Do you want to spend more time with your friend or aim for getting your talent noticed.

And one more thing, let people talk whatever they want, let them say you suck and sing bad. Always have confidence in yourself, never ever lose confidence alright? Just ignore the haters, there always will be some and obstacles like that need to be crossed. Just be proud and accept real criticism not just random hate, and if someone does talk shit just ignore them ^^

To me this is a point of choosing to be with your friend all the time or go in to something bigger, at least thats how i feel it that the first thing is bigger, but the other thing is with your friend.
So idk if you see your friend alot outside that thingy, but if you see her alot i think best to go for the lead singer thing.
personally i think i should choose for my friend, but the best thing is to choose for lead singing thingy cause the youth groups band sounds way cooler than christmas event choir
